Bars in CA found out that non-smokers spend more money overall. HRC needs to figure this out - make the casino non-smoking, and have a special section for smokers. FOR have the price! The Casino was very smoky, which is a HUGE problem here in California, where only 10% of the population smokes. We could have had a better steak as Outback, better chicken at Pollo Loco, Salmond at McCormicks.
All told, the price for the 4 of us, with tip, came to $500.
Our waiter was excellent (Karen!), however the orders were delivered out of order - ladies served last instead of first. We also had a bottle of wine (a nice Pinot, but the cord broke on opening). In addition to the main courses we ordered the calamari (a very small portion), Crab Salad, and several size dishes. The cioppino was perfect, the salmond was OK, but not that flavorful, the filet was ordered medium, arrived very rare, but charred on the outside (but was good), the chicken was dry, overcooked, and hard to cut with the steak knife. Wife ordered the cioppino, I ordered the Chicken, daughter ordered the Salmond, and her boyfriend ordered the filet (they were out of the Halibut).
Steaks started at $48 and up! We were a party of 4, and were seated promptly. We had reservations for the Council Oaks restaurant - a Steak/Seafood style restaurant on Sunday - a week after opening.
